Developed and tested with Teagasc Ashtown
We worked closely with Teagasc, the Irish agriculture and food development authority, at its Ashtown food research centre to develop and test every product in the range.

Ocras is a small company in Clonakilty, West Cork, started by a chef. We make frozen biscuits, scones, bread, potato and vegetables for people with swallowing difficulties, for hospitals, care homes and families.

Made in Clonakilty, by a chef who cooks for dysphagia.
Niamh Condon, a dysphagia chef, started Ocras in 2021 because the food on offer for people with swallowing and chewing difficulties was so limited. Every product is handmade, and every recipe was developed and tested with Teagasc for safe use with the IDDSI Framework.

Every Ocras product is made by hand in Clonakilty. The range was developed and tested with Teagasc at Ashtown, and our kitchen holds SALSA accreditation.
The first Irish company to achieve SALSA accreditation
SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) is a food safety standard for small food producers. Ocras was the first Irish company to apply for it and achieve it.

Ocras is now in the UK, through Allmanhall.
Allmanhall handles all UK sales and enquiries. Orders go through Allmanhall, and Bidfood delivers them.
